Wilson Sonsini represents Foundation Conservation Carpathia, a nonprofit organization based in Romania. It was founded in 2009 by 12 philanthropists and conservationists with the goal to stop illegal logging and protect a significant section of Carpathian forests through a completely protected area for future generations. Wilson Sonsini advised Foundation Conservation Carpathia on its expansion into the United States and its incorporation as a 501(c)(3) entity, including filing for and obtaining an exemption from the IRS. The firm also represented the foundation in negotiating its fiscal sponsorship agreement and structuring its entities.
