Silvopasture Carbon Offsets
Working Trees is building monitoring, reporting, and verification (“MRV”) technology that monitors the climate impact of trees using ordinary mobile devices. Working Trees utilizes this MRV technology to facilitate a carbon credit market between farmers and corporations looking to offset their carbon emissions. Through Working Trees, hundreds of farmers in the U.S. and Brazil are making money by planting trees on pastureland (a type of agroforestry known as silvopasture), benefitting both their livelihoods and the climate. Working Trees seeks to sequester one gigaton of carbon emissions annually by 2035. Working Trees has planted more than 180,000 trees since 2023!
