Hosted by the Stanford Black Law Students Association (BLSA), the Annual Black History Month Gala is an annual dinner during which we reflect on issues surrounding race and civil rights and imagine a way forward towards a more just society.

2016 Keynote speaker Judith Browne Dianis was a civil rights attorney and Co-Director of the Advancement Project, a racial justice organization.

The gala will took place at McCaw Hall in the Frances C. Arrillaga Alumni Center. Tickets purchased through BLSA or the Stanford Law School Office of Alumni Relations.

BLSA's first Black History Month Gala: "The Next 50 Years of Civil Rights and Racial Justice."

Stanford Law School has a long history of educating the nation's next generation of leaders, and BLSA is committed to ensuring these leaders are champions of racial justice. "The Next 50 Years of Civil Rights and Racial Justice" brought together the broader law school community to celebrate fulfilled promises and reflect on dreams deferred.
2014 Keynote speaker Maya Harris '92 was a Senior Fellow at American Progress, former Vice President of Democracy, Rights, and Justice at the Ford Foundation, and the former Executive Director the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Northern California
2014 Keynote speaker Tony West '92 was Associate Attorney General, the nation's third-highest ranking official at the Department of Justice.

The gala took place at Paul Brest Hall.
