Alison Tucher, JD ’92, Named Presiding Justice on the California Court of Appeal
On August 30, 2021, The Honorable Alison Tucher was sworn in as presiding justice of the California Court of Appeal, First Appellate District, Division Three. She had previously served three years as an associate justice in Division Four and before joining the California Court of Appeal, Justice Tucher sat on the Alameda County Superior Court. She currently serves on the Judicial Council of California’s Criminal Law Advisory Committee, chairs the State Bar of California’s Closing the Justice Gap Working Group, and is a member of the American Law Institute.
Tucher practiced law at Morrison & Foerster LLP in San Francisco from 1998 until her appointment to the Alameda County Superior Court in January 2014. While practicing law, Tucher served on the boards of several nonprofits and lectured in law schools, including Stanford Law School.
