Amy Knight, JD ’12, To Lead Mexican Capital Legal Assistance Program

Amy Knight was named the executive director of the Mexican Capital Legal Assistance Program (MCLAP), which partners with the Mexican government to provide legal defense for Mexican nationals facing the death penalty in the United States.

Knight specializes in death penalty and juvenile life sentence cases and has litigated before the U.S. Supreme Court, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Arizona Supreme Court. Since its founding in 2000, MCLAP has participated in more than 1,300 cases and has prevented or reversed the death penalty in over 1,200 of them.
