California Supreme Court Chief Justice Patricia Guerrero, JD ’97, chair of California’s Commission on Judicial Appointments, announced in late 2024 that the commission had confirmed three appointments to California’s Courts of Appeal in Los Angeles, one of which was Justice Anne Richardson, who had served as a judge at the Los Angeles County Superior Court since 2018. Richardson spent 24 years at law firm Hadsell Stormer Keeny Richardson & Renick, LLP, and its predecessors, where she litigated civil rights, human rights, and employment cases. She then worked as a directing attorney at Public Counsel, where she litigated complex matters involving civil rights and consumer issues before her appointment to the bench.
