Faculty News: Lemley Receives CLAY Award and Recognized in Top Lawyer Lists
Mark A. Lemley (BA ’88), William H. Neukom Professor of Law and director of the Stanford Program in Law, Science, and Technology, received a prestigious California Lawyer Attorney of the Year (CLAY) award in antitrust in March 2016. He received the award for successfully arguing for a consumer class before the state Supreme Court that found a price-fixing scheme in the pharmaceutical sector.
Lemley has also been recognized for his expertise in intellectual property with inclusion on several “best of” lists of top lawyers. He was among the “Top 100: 2015 Northern California Super Lawyers List” and the Daily Journal’s “Top 100 Lawyers in California.” He was also highlighted by Law360 as an “Icon of IP” for his extensive and heavily cited body of work.
A prolific scholar, Lemley is the author of seven books and 151 articles, including the two-volume treatise IP and Antitrust. He is a founding partner of Durie Tangri LLP and a founder of the IP startup Lex Machina, Inc.
