Faculty News: Magill Elected to American Academy of Arts and Sciences

M. Elizabeth Magill, Richard E. Lang Professor of Law and Dean, was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in April 2016. The academy, founded in 1780, is one of the country’s oldest and most prestigious societies. Magill and five other Stanford professors were tapped to join nearly 5,000 members in a range of academic fields.

Magill is an expert in administrative law and constitutional law. She joined Stanford Law as dean in September 2012 after serving on the faculty of University of Virginia School of Law for 15 years.
