Michael S. Wald, Jackson Eli Reynolds Professor of Law, Emeritus, received the Marion Langer Award from the American Orthopsychiatric Association. The annual award recognizes excellence in social advocacy and the pursuit of human rights. Wald received the honor for his advocacy on behalf of disadvantaged children. He is an expert advisor on children’s rights and welfare nationwide. Wald, one of the leading national authorities on legal policy toward children, drafted the American Bar Association’s Standards Related to Child Abuse and Neglect, as well as major federal and state legislation regarding child welfare.
