The scholarship of Robert L. Rabin, A. Calder Mackay Professor of Law, a leading expert on tort law and legislative compensation schemes, was honored and featured at the 17th Annual Clifford Symposium on Tort Law and Social Policy in a “Festschrift for Robert Rabin.” The program, held at DePaul University College of Law, included presentations and panels by leading torts scholars including Rabin and Nora Freeman Engstrom ’02, assistant professor of law.

Rabin’s broad knowledge of tort and accident law extends from its history to its functions, including alternative regulatory schemes. His scholarship includes an extensive bibliography of more than 70 articles, papers, books, and reviews. He is also a co-editor of the classic tort law casebook, Tort Law and Alternatives: Cases and Materials, which has served as an introductory text for thousands of students.
