 Henry T. Greely (BA ’74), Deane F. and Kate Edelman Johnson Professor of Law, was named director of the Stanford Program in Neuroscience and Society (SPINS).
A multidisciplinary initiative, SPINS was created by the Stanford Neurosciences Institute and will be based at Stanford Law School. SPINS aims to study how neuroscience affects society.
 Greely is the director of Stanford’s Center for Law and the Biosciences and chair of the Steering Committee of the Center for Biomedical Ethics. He specializes in the ethical, legal, and social implications of biomedical technologies.
