In July 2019, Marcy Karin, the Jack and Lovell Olender Professor of Law and director of the Legislation Clinic at the University of the District of Columbia David A. Clarke School of Law, accepted the Clinical Legal Education Association (CLEA) Award for Excellence in a Public Interest Case or Project at this year’s Association of American Law Schools (AALS) Conference on Clinical Legal Education. The CLEA honored the UDC Law Legislation Clinic’s partnership with Bringing Resources to Aid Women’s Shelters (BRAWS) , a nonprofit that provides personally fitted undergarments and menstrual supplies to schools and shelters in the greater D.C. area.
