In October 2021, The Georgetown Center for the Constitution announced it will award its fifth annual Thomas M. Cooley Book Prize of $50,000 to Professor Michael McConnell, Richard and Frances Mallery Professor and director of the Constitutional Law Center, for his book, The President Who Would Not Be King: Executive Power Under the Constitution. The prize will be presented at an award ceremony at the National Archives in October 2022, following the Thomas Cooley Faculty Seminar at Georgetown Law to discuss the book.
