Long-time faculty member Michael Wald, Jackson Eli Reynolds Professor of Law, has retired from full-time teaching to become an emeritus professor of Stanford Law School. The former head of San Francisco’s Department of Human Services and member of the faculty since 1967, Wald is noted for his

extensive research on children, families, and public policy. His legislative work has led to the drafting of many key laws governing child abuse and neglect, both on the federal and the state level. Wald will continue his work in retirement as a member of the recently created Transitional Youth Commission Task Force in San Francisco.
