Jay Mitchell (BA ‘80), the founding director of the Organizations and Transactions Clinic, was promoted to professor of law earlier this year. Mitchell also was honored by the American Bar Association’s Nonprofit Organizations Committee with the Outstanding Academic Award for 2013, Business Law Section, for academic achievement in the nonprofit sector.  Mitchell’s research focuses on the application of information, document, and graphic design principles to legal documents; clinical and transactional skills; and sustainable agriculture and food systems.
