Adam Sterling was appointed the inaugural associate dean for executive education and strategic partnerships in January 2025, tasked with overseeing training and professional development for legal professionals, organizational leaders, and Stanford Law alumni. He will also drive a range of strategic partnerships across Stanford University and throughout the broader legal community.

Sterling, who received his JD/MBA from UC Berkeley, brings a decade of experience from his alma mater, where he served in a similar capacity and built a robust executive education portfolio that gained international recognition. He also led the Berkeley Center for Law and Business.

“Training lawyers to be effective leaders is arguably just as important as training them to be good lawyers and, with this in mind, we are focused on the entire school and all of our graduates: public sector, litigators, business lawyers, private sector, government, and beyond,” says George Triantis, JSD ’89, Richard E.
