Scott Kupor, JD ’96 (BA ’93), Receives Senate Confirmation To Head Office of Personnel Management
In July 2025, the U.S. Senate confirmed Scott Kupor as the director of the Office of Personnel Management. Kupor, a venture capital industry leader and former chair of the National Venture Capital Association Board, served as a longtime managing partner at Andreessen Horowitz, which he helped build from its inception in 2009 into one of the largest venture capital firms in the United States, managing more than $45 billion in assets.
The president and CEO of the NVCA said in a statement after Kupor’s confirmation: “Scott Kupor has a real talent for scaling organizations and leading with vision. He brings to OPM the forward-thinking leadership that the federal government needs as it works to modernize and innovate workforce management. He brought invaluable insight, steady leadership, and a deep commitment to advancing entrepreneurship throughout America as chair of NVCA, and we know he will bring that same drive and dedication to public service.”
