Transcripts

By July 15, 2026, all incoming law students are required to have official transcripts on file showing receipt of any degree received.  In addition, we require an official transcript showing any work completed at another university.  If the transcripts you submitted to LSAC as part of your application meet these requirements, you need not submit any transcripts directly to us.  Those LSAC transcripts will suffice.  If, however, your transcripts do not show degree conferral or do not include all coursework, you will need to have those transcripts submitted directly to the Law School Office of Admissions from the academic institutions.

“Official transcripts” are either original transcripts or copies that have been certified by the relevant educational institution(s) and that are received in an envelope sealed by the issuing institution(s). You may already have submitted the required documents as part of your application through LSAC. Failure to have all official transcripts on file at Stanford will cause a “hold” on your student account and may prevent you from registering for autumn classes. We strongly suggest bringing an extra set of original transcripts and degree conferrals with you to Stanford, as they may be needed during your year here.
