Biography
Verena Jackson is a Legal Advisor and Researcher & Lecturer at Center for Intelligence & Security Studies (CISS) at the University of the Armed Forces of Germany. Her academic research and expertise focus on international legal and political aspects of the use of AI and emerging technologies in military systems and Cyberoperations and Space Law. She was a Visiting Scholar at Duke University and is very interested in the comparison of U.S. and European Law. After completing her legal studies with a focus on International and European Law in Germany and Spain, she worked for international law firms and the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies (a partnership institute of the German and US Military). She also has additional training in American Law from the 7th Army JMTC Staff Judge Advocate. Currently she is pursuing an LL.M in Legal Informatics at the University of Passau (Germany) and was awarded a Scholarship by Airbus. Verena is a member of the Younger Generation Leaders Network on Euro-Atlantic Security (YGLN) and the IT Law Working Group of the German Bar Association. In 2021 she founded Jackson Legal, a Munich (Germany) based law firm, specialized in advising clients in IT-Law, Data Protection & Privacy Law. Verena has been a TTLF Affiliate since March 2024.
