Ying-Yi Lin

Biography
Ying-Yi Lin, from Taiwan, is a JSD candidate at Stanford Law School. Her research interests include legal history, family law, and East Asia Studies. Particularly, Ying-Yi’s JSD dissertation project focuses on the legal history of family business in Taiwan spanning two time periods—the period of the Qing Empire rule (1683-1895) and the period of the Japanese Empire rule (1895-1945).
Before coming to Stanford, Ying-Yi received her LL.B. (2015) and LL.M. (2018) from National Taiwan University. In 2017, she was awarded the Fellowship of Visiting Researcher at the Institute of Taiwan History, Academia Sinica, and her LL.M. dissertation won the first prize in the Taiwan Research Award from the Taiwan Study Research Center in 2019. Ying-Yi was also awarded the Ministry of Education (Taiwan) Fellowship for studying overseas.
