We filed a uniform procedures complaint on behalf of a grandmother and her middle-school-aged grandson, who had faced repeated discrimination at his school based on his race, disability, and gender. Despite our client’s consistent efforts to advocate for her grandson, the school failed to take meaningful action to address the harm done to him and other students. Although her grandson eventually transferred to a different school because of the mistreatment, the family sought legal help from YELP to hold the previous school accountable and advocate for systemic change to protect other students still at the school.
