Our elementary school client, who has a history of autism, struggled with significant socio-emotional challenges after the school district deemed her ineligible for special education services. After her parent’s request for a re-evaluation was denied, we worked to ensure that our client’s right to an evaluation was upheld. Our clinic’s internal social work team also began working with the family to secure referrals to local and regional support services.
