Now Available: GC Survey, World Bank Event Summary, Guiding Case Nos. 53-56

New issue of Guiding Cases Surveys™ covering 181 subsequent cases released as of Dec 31, 2015

Guiding Cases Surveys™ Issue No. 2 marks the beginning of the CGCP’s cumulative, empirical study of all subsequent cases (“SCs”) made available at the Supreme People’s Court (“SPC”)’s official website. For ease of research, our improved knowledge-base lists SCs under their corresponding Guiding Case (see, e.g., the list of SCs made available to date that refer to Guiding Case No. 9).

On November 17, 2015, Dr. Mei Gechlik, Founder and Director of the CGCP, moderated a panel entitled The Role of ‘Precedents’/Guiding Cases in the Effective Application, Interpretation, and Implementation of the Law, featuring judges and trial lawyers from Japan, Kenya, and the United States. Proposed by the CGCP, the panel was selected by the World Bank to be presented at the Law, Justice and Development Week 2015 of the World Bank. Guiding Case Nos. 53-56 (Chinese) now available

The SPC has released the 11th batch of Guiding Cases, including in their selection a Guiding Case on patent law. The original Chinese versions are now available online. English translations prepared by the CGCP will be published soon.
