CodeX’s Gurinder Sangha Makes Crain’s 40 Under 40 List
Congratulations to CodeX Fellow Gurinder “Gary” Sangha, who has been chosen for the “40 Under 40 Class of 2016 by Crain’s New York Business! Sangha, 37, is the founder of Intelligize and founder and CEO of Lit IQ.
This year’s class offers a delightful and refreshing mix of women and men, with people of color. Among the 2016 recipients are Pamela Abulu, Chief Architect at Met Life; Brian Benjamin, Managing Director at Genesis Cos; Jeff Ginsburg, East Harlem Tutorial Program, Executive Director; Danielle Gray, Partner at O’Melveny & Myers; Philip Krim, co-founder and CEO of Casper; just to name a few.
“Sangha’s latest venture is a legal tech startup, Lit IQ, which seeks to protect lawyers from themselves by scanning legal documents for ambiguous or conflicting language and suggesting alternatives. He raised nearly $675,000 from angel investors in 2015,” writes Hilary Potkewitz in Crain’s.

“‘Gary has always been more interested in new ideas and new technology. I think in his heart, he wanted something bigger,’ recalled former co-worker Jeremy Low, now a legal director at Natixis Bank. ‘A lot of lawyers have the same feeling, but they stay the course. Gary accepted the risk and gave it a go,'” continues Potkewitz.
Said Assistant Managing Editor Peter Green: “There’s something about New York that inspires people to come here—and motivates people from here—to pursue their dreams at breakneck speed. The swirling amalgam of energy, power, flavors and scents intersects with the building blocks of business that New York so readily offers: access to talented workers, capital and customers. That magic sauce has created a generation of New Yorkers who are changing the world right here at home.”
Sangha noted that he is the first legal-tech entrepreneur to be selected! Congrats!!
