Robert Ambrogi is the new technology columnist for Above The Law, dubbed “This Week in Legal Tech.” He kicked it off this week with “6 Things I Believe About Successful Legal Technology.”

Ambroji’s column focuses on topics relevant to solo and small firm lawyers. “Maybe I’ll round-up the top stories, take a deeper dive into noe, review a new product or just rant. I’ll try to keep the rants to a minimum,” he said. (But I love his rants and you will too, so I hope he does a lot of them).

Bob and I go a looooong way. I met him when I was in law school, via the ABA, and we both worked at ALM. On my first day as Editor-in-Chief at Law Technology News I asked him to do a column and he said yes, and he continued it for 15 years!

Bob and I still collaborate — we co-host Law Technology Now on the Legal Talk Network. We’ve even gone to Red Sox /Yankees games together and still are close friends!

Frank Strong, founder and president of Sword and the Script Media, wants you to know about The Law Firm 500, modeled after the Inc. 500 (but not affiliated) that will recognize U.S. law firms “for velocity in revenue growth as a result of client services excellence. The award program is open for application to U.S. law firms of all sizes and winners are determined solely on the percentage of growth over a three-year period.”

“It’s important because experience suggests there are thousands, perhaps tens of thousands, of fast growing law firms that largely go unrecognized under existing law firm award programs,” said RJon Robins, a proponent of the new award. Currently sponsors include Thomson Reuters, The Rainmaker Institute, Ruby Receptionist, and LawPay, among other businesses with roots in legal, said Strong.
