Ohhhhh, Canada!
Over the last year, there has been sooooo much traction for CodeX, which we discussed yesterday regarding CodeX’s strong presence in the 2016 Fastcase 50. A related, very interesting trend is how international CodeX has grown. It’s no doubt partly due to Executive Director Roland Vogl’s roots in Europe—and partly due to Stanford’s international reputation—and partly due to the Internet (especially YouTube). But there’s no question that CodeX conferences and weekly programs are decidedly international.

A good example is MaRS’ LegalX, a Toronto-based organization run by Aron Solomon and Jason Moyse. At the Canadian Bar Association’s upcoming annual CBA Legal Conference (Aug. 12-14), LegalX, CBA and LexisNexis out will present “The Pitch” on Aug. 12 at 3:15 p.m.
The five Canadian finalists (culled by a committee, with 31applications) are familiar names to the CodeX crowd: Beagle; Blue J Legal, Knomos, Loom Analytics and Rangefindr.
Want to know what they are competing for? Check out my July column, “The Circuit: Ohhhhh, Canada!” at Above The Law. (Disclosure: I’m a judge at The Pitch!)
