ILTA's Randi Mayes Announces Her Departure 1

ILTA, launched in 1980, quickly became a vital resource in the legal community, especially for the legal professionals who were pioneering the use of technology in law. ILTA’s concept was different than most traditional for-profit conferences and state or local events. ILTA’s core agenda is peer-to-peer activities that create an environment where members can share intelligence, ideas, successes, and friendships that helped elevate the legal industry and individual’s careers.

ILTA has grown to attract professionals from law firms (84%), corporate/government law departments (10%), government/judicial (2%) and law schools, legal aid socieities and bar associations (4%) and the attention of many legal technology journalists.

Said Mayes, who has been at ILTA since it’s conception: “It’s been extraordinarily humbling and gratifying to see the organization grow from a grassroots network to a large, international association. I’m proud of my matronly status, and I’m privileged to have witnessed the maturation of our beloved ILTA from a bumbling toddler to a highly respected adult. I am fortunate to have learned from thousands of passionate members across almost four decades, and if the passion arising from those experiences were money, I’d be the richest person on earth. The opportunities for professional development and life-long personal connections extend infinitely as new members find the embrace of this wonderful community.”

“ILTA’s board has formed a search committee to oversee the process of selecting a new executive director and retained executive search firm Vetted Solutions to coordinate the process,” the press release stated. “The search will commence in mid-August 2016 with the goal of identifying the new leader by the end of the year.”  For information, contact Jim Zaniello at jim.zaniello@vettedsolutions.com.
