Hi Everyone,

Our next CodeX group meeting is this Thursday (Feb 4), from 1:30p to 2:30p PT, via Zoom (new attendees please sign up below). Our meetings continue to be held remotely.

Our guests:

André Lage Freitas, Assistant Professor, Universidade Federal de Alagoas, and Co-founder, JusPredict, a legaltech startup that builds AI solutions. Prof. Lage-Freitas will discuss “Case Outcome Prediction for Brazilian Courts,” an applied research project that builds predictive analyses of Brazilian legal decisions. 

Karl Branting, Chief Scientist, The MITRE Corporation; Elizabeth Tippett, Associate Professor, University of Oregon School of Law, and Charlotte Alexander, Associate Professor, Law and Analytics, Georgia State University Legal Analytics & Innovation Initiative. Our presenters will discuss their predictive work on persuasive legal texts.
