Endorsement of Stanford Computational Antitrust Project from Dominican Republic National Commission of Competition

The Dominican Republic National Commission of Competition Defense publishes an official press release endorsing the computational antitrust project.

The project’s objective is to explore how legal informatics can promote the automation of antitrust procedures.

The Dominican Republic’s National Commission for the Defense of Competition (Pro-Competencia) will participate in Stanford’s Computational Antitrust project, which brings together more than 65 competition agencies, 73 antitrust agencies, and more than 50 academics.

Pro-Competencia joins this initiative at the request of Professor Thibault Schrepel, Associate of Law at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (Amsterdam Law & Technology Institute) and member of the teaching staff at Stanford University (CodeX Center).

“At Pro-Competencia, we value initiatives that foster dialogue, knowledge sharing, and innovation in competition policy. We hope that by being part of this platform, we can contribute to discussions and research on computer antitrust,” said María Elena Vásquez Taveras, president of the institution’s Board of Directors, who appointed José Beltré Cuevas, director of Competition Defense and Promotion, as liaison for the project.
