Biography
Beth Brinkmann is an appellate and U.S. Supreme Court litigator with deep experience in the federal government, where she served in the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Solicitor General and as a Deputy Assistant Attorney General, responsible for the Civil Division appellate office. She also led appellate practices at two national law firms, including arguing her 26th case before the Supreme Court. Her practice focused on constitutional, statutory, and regulatory matters across a wide range of legal fields. She led litigation teams on strategies, complex legal analyses, briefing and arguments, and collaborated on multi-party cases at the trial and appellate levels. Beth has worked as a public interest attorney in state and federal court, including on cases involving civil rights, consumer rights, prisoners’ rights, environmental law, First Amendment, capital defense, fair housing, federal criminal defense, and reproductive rights.
Beth graduated from Yale Law School and received her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley. Beth served as a law clerk to Judge Phyllis Kravitch on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and to Justice Harry A. Blackmun on the U.S. Supreme Court.
