Claude has 40 years of litigation, trial and arbitration experience in complex civil cases throughout the United States, focusing on intellectual property, technology, and class action disputes.  He served for 12 years as managing partner of Quinn Emanuel’s Silicon Valley Office, and retired from the firm in May 2020 after 18 years as Co-Chair of Quinn Emanuel’s Intellectual Property Litigation Practice. 

Claude has served as President of the Association of Business Trial Lawyers, has taught or lectured in the Stanford Law School Trial Advocacy course since 1990, and now serves as a JAMS arbitrator and mediator.

Claude earned his undergraduate Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from the University of California, Los Angeles, and earned his Juris Doctor from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law.  After law school, Claude clerked for the Hon. Judge Jerome Farris of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in Seattle, WA.
