Reuben Youngblom
Biography
Reuben Youngblom is a Fellow with the Stanford CodeX Center for Legal Informatics, where he teaches “Digital Assets in the US: Legal, Theoretical, and Regulatory Dimensions” and “Law 1076 – Blockchain Engineering: Techniques and Legal Implications.” After spending five years focusing on digital money, decentralized systems, and privacy at the MIT Digital Currency Initiative (part of the MIT Media Lab), he now runs OpenLab in the Stanford School of Engineering’s MS&E Department. He has a law degree, a computer science degree, and a master’s in philosophy, and so is not particularly fun to talk to. His research focuses on the intersection between blockchain and the law, privacy, and mitigating potential harms from emerging technology.
