SLS in Thailand

Select students enrolled in Law 5035 traveled to Thailand (Bangkok and Chiang Mai) for a field study over spring break.  In Thailand—which is considered a source, transit, and destination state for many forms of human traffickingstudents met with government officials, non-governmental organizations and victims’ organizations, and other actors involved in the anti-trafficking movement. The hope was that students would come away with a better understanding of the components of the international anti-trafficking ecosystem as well as the complex legal, political, social, and economic factors at work.
