The Honorable James E. “Jeb” Boasberg, Chief Judge of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, will speak to students on January 26, 2024, at 9 am. Chief Judge Boasberg will talk about his background, offer advice about law school and clerkships, and take students’ questions.
Chief Judge Boasberg received a B.A., magna cum laude, in History, as well as a J.D., from Yale. He also holds a M.St. in Modern European History from Oxford University. After clerking for the Honorable Dorothy Nelson on the 9th Circuit, Chief Judge Boasberg was a litigation associate at Keker & Van Nest in San Francisco and then at Kellogg, Huber, Hansen, Todd & Evans in Washington, D.C. He then served in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia until he became a judge of the District of Columbia Superior Court in 2002. President Obama nominated Judge Boasberg to the DC District Court in June 2010, and he has served as Chief Judge since last March.
