Bringing the Law Down to Earth—An Introduction to Critical Legal Studies with Professor Mark Kelman
- This event has passed.
Join us for a talk and discussion on the origins, method, and contemporary relevance of Critical Legal Studies (CLS), a pivotal movement in legal thought whose repercussions continue to reverberate until today. If you have ever thought about how law intersects with notions of power, identity, and politics, you may resonate with the CLS method.
We have the honor and privilege of hosting for our talk Professor Mark Kelman, one of the original pioneers in the CLS movement, and a leading scholar in a range of disciplines (criminal law, contract law, property law and more). Professor Kelman’s talk will be followed by a moderated discussion where he will take audience questions and comments.
No prior familiarity with CLS, or with legal history is necessary to attend this talk. All are welcome, and lunch will be provided!
