For the third time in Chile, the Stanford Rock Center for Corporate Governance, a joint initiative of Stanford Law School and the Graduate School of Business at Stanford, will be co-hosting a Directors' College program in Santiago with the corporate governance center of Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (CGCUC).
Directors' College Chile will bring together leading Stanford and PUC Faculty, CEOs, board members, practitioners and regulators, for a rigorous and balanced examination of corporate governance, strategy and compliance. The program will be an intensive one-day program for directors and senior executives of Chilean public and private firms. The curriculum will address a broad range of problems that confront modern boards in Chile including the governance responses to capital market evolution; the role of institutional investors & agency capitalism; the role of the independent director in controlled companies; a new case study on governance responses to distressed companies, and boardroom dynamics.
The program is designed to generate practical “takeaway” pointers that can be responsibly applied to a broad range of boardroom concerns.
