Global Talent Flows in AI and Their Implications for the United States

The Stanford Artificial Intelligence and Law Society (SAILS) is excited to host Remco Zwetsloot for a presentation on “Global Talent Flows in AI and Their Implications for the United States” on February 3rd. Remco is a Research Fellow at the Center for Security and Emerging Technology (CSET), a think tank within Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service. He helps lead CSET’s research on the US AI workforce, immigration policy, global tech talent flows, and US-China technology transfer. He is also a Research Affiliate at the Center for the Governance of AI at the University of Oxford.
During the session, Remco will present some of the key findings from two years of data collection on the US AI workforce and surveys of AI researchers, offer immigration and workforce policy priorities for the incoming Biden administration, and discuss the role of China in US policy debates on global talent flows. His presentation will last approximately 30 minutes and will be followed by Q&A.
