The lead poisoning crisis in Flint has caused outrage, confusion, and demands for accountability. It presents an important moment for those of us who care about local government law, our nation’s aging infrastructure, environmental racism, and pressing questions about local self-determination to come together and understand how the crisis came to be and what can be done to support residents of Flint and those in similar communities across the country. Join BLSA, BGSA, and BEGSA for a discussion with Professor Michelle Wilde Anderson, who recently travelled to Flint to interview residents and gain a deeper understanding of the unfolding events. She will share her findings and perspectives and help to facilitate a discussion, answer questions, and brainstorm ways for students at Stanford to support Flint residents.
