hosted by Building a Better Legal Profession and the Women of Stanford Law
The economic crisis of 2008 severely impacted the legal profession, particularly big law firms. Young associates were particularly affected, with layoffs, fewer summer associate positions and uncertainty about the financial strength of the firm. Sang Kim, the managing partner of DLA Piper Palo Alto, and Mae O’Malley, founder and managing partner at Paragon Legal, will speak about the future of big law. How have firms changed since the crisis? What does this mean for young associates? What institutional mechanisms are firms putting in place to protect themselves? What is the particular impact to women and attorneys of color?
Lunch will be provided to attendees.
