AI Regulation for the Global Majority

  • This event is archived.

Artificial intelligence regulation is often discussed through the lens of dominant regulatory
frameworks from the United States, Europe, and China. However, the global majority faces
unique challenges and opportunities in AI governance. For example, there’s a common trend in
the worldwide majority where robust regulation is lacking in essential areas such as data
protection or cybersecurity.
In this panel, we aim to hear from international lawyers on the new challenges in AI regulation in
the Global Majority from different perspectives around the AI ecosystem. This panel seeks to
bring fresh, practical insights into the evolving legal landscape of AI regulation outside the
US-EU-China axis. By convening experts from major law firms, in-house counsel at tech
companies, and civil society organizations, we will explore how diverse legal systems adapt to
AI’s challenges and opportunities.
