International Student Resources at Stanford

The Bechtel International Center (or I-Center) welcomes all international students at Stanford, their spouses and families to participate in their activities.  Bechtel is also the office which processes your visa, and can answer your questions about your particular visa situation.  Their website has a great deal of information and links to resources for international students so please visit the site often and explore the links there.

For spouses, partners and families, there are many opportunities for activities and outings during your time at Stanford.

The Community Committee for International Students (CCIS) is an organization of local volunteers who provide a variety of services to international students.  CCIS is over 50 years old and is housed in the I-Center.

Stanford’s international students drive over 650 student groups and organizations on campus.

Admitted students can also take advantage of the University’s Language Center, which offers an English class for foreign students.  It’s an intensive summer program, lasting 6 weeks from early July to mid-August.

Bechtel’s website also has information about post-graduation visa information and Optional Practical Training.  Law students will learn more about this in the winter and can apply for it in the spring.
