Ivan Au is the Associate Director of the Stanford Law School AI Initiative, which serves as a hub for the law school’s interdisciplinary work in artificial intelligence. 

Prior to returning to Stanford Law, she served as the Chief of Staff to David Friedberg at The Production Board, where she was responsible for leading special projects, managing strategic investments, and shaping the firm’s engagements with internal and external stakeholders for the Office of the CEO. Previously, Ivan served as an attorney at Fenwick and West and Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati. In that role, she advised technology companies on a wide range of corporate matters with a focus on venture capital financings, capital market transactions, and corporate governance. She began her career as an investment banker at Barclays covering companies in the technology, media, and telecommunications sectors.

She received her J.D. from Stanford Law School and graduated cum laude from Cornell University with a B.S. in Applied Economics and Management.
