Transcript Tips

Many public interest employers do not request a transcript. Yet some, notably many private public interest law firms and some federal government agencies, will request one. They may be curious about your course selections, so don’t assume they will only be evaluating candidates based on the number of H grades you have earned.

Unless specifically requested, an unofficial transcript should suffice. Make sure you include Stanford Law School’s official grading explanation, as our grading system is unique. Stanford does not rank its students, nor do we offer a GPA. Thus, it’s important to include this explanation if employers do request a transcript.
