Biography
Mary T. Yang is an experienced C-suite executive and public board director with deep expertise in strategic growth, capital allocation, M&A, cybersecurity, and AI-driven transformation across technology, cybersecurity, automotive/EV, and energy sectors.
Her career includes senior executive roles in strategy, finance, global operations and corporate development at public companies in cybersecurity and AI infrastructure (Cisco, Fortinet, Ciena) and a founding executive role at a venture-backed autonomous EV company (NIO) from Series B to IPO. In her most recent operating role, Mary was Chief Strategy Officer at Ciena (CIEN), where she led the three-year strategic financial plan and capital allocation priorities for the $4B revenue company, and initiated $1B+ initiatives in AI cloud infrastructure for hyperscalers including AWS, Google, and Azure.
Mary served on the board of CyberArk (NASDAQ: CYBR), a global cybersecurity leader with a $25B market capitalization, where she was a member of the Strategy Committee and Transaction Committee. She previously served on the board of Sunnova Energy (NOVA) a leading renewable energy services provider, where she was a member of the Audit Committee and Compensation Committee.
Mary currently serves as Vice Chair of the Finance Committee on the Board of Trustees at Palo Alto University and advises several technology companies. She has been a featured speaker at the NYSE Board Education Panel and Stanford Graduate School of Business on board governance, growth acceleration and strategic decision-making.
Mary received an AB in Quantitative Economics with distinction, an MS in Engineering Economic Systems from the School of Engineering, an MBA from the Graduate School of Business, and a JD from Stanford Law School, all from Stanford University.
