Nick Vincent is a scholar of science and the law. His research uses patent law and evidence to examine legal challenges arising from scientific and technological change. His scholarship asks how the law can, and whether it should, evolve in response to rapidly developing technologies. Nick’s scholarship has been published in the Texas Law Review, UC Law Journal (formerly Hastings Law Journal), Gonzaga Journal of International Law, and NYU Journal of Intellectual Property and Entertainment Law.

Before joining the Center for Law and the Biosciences, Nick was an associate at Williams & Connolly LLP in Washington, D.C. His practice focused on life sciences and pharmaceutical patent litigation. Before Williams & Connolly, Nick clerked for the Honorable Alan D. Lourie on the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He was also an associate in the Palo Alto office of Morrison & Foerster LLP, where his practice focused on patent prosecution.

Nick graduated from New York University School of Law, where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the NYU Journal of Intellectual Property and Entertainment Law. Before law school, Nick received his Ph.D. in Microbiology from Yale University. At Yale, he studied the assembly of ribosomes, RNA-protein complexes required for protein synthesis and cellular growth. Nick received his B.S., summa cum laude, in Biology from Providence College.
