Owen Gallogly is a legal scholar. He studies the jurisdiction and powers of the federal courts, with a particular focus on issues of structural constitutionalism. His research has appeared in the Yale Law Journal and the Virginia Law Review. Owen’s current projects consider recent developments in the Supreme Court’s approach to public law litigation and the common law origins of Article III standing doctrine.

Owen taught law and researched at Harvard Law School as a Climenko Fellow and Lecturer on Law (2020-23). Previously, he clerked for Judge J. Harvie Wilkinson III on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. He received his law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law, where he served as an editor of the Virginia Law Review, and his B.A. with Highest Distinction in government and history from the University of Virginia.
