On October 3, Jeffrey Toobin, CNN analyst and New Yorker journalist, was hosted by the Stanford Center on the Legal Profession at Stanford Law School to discuss the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS), the current makeup of the court and the upcoming term. Toobin spoke to a crowd of Stanford Law students, faculty, alumni and others in a standing-room only classroom venue.

The discussion was facilitated by Leah Litman, Visiting Clinical Professor of Law in the Supreme Court Litigation Clinic. Professor Litman is visiting from the University of California, Irvine School of Law where she researches and writes on constitutional law with a particular focus on federalism, federal courts, and federal post-conviction review.

After the lecture by Toobin, Professor Litman assisted with a Q&A that included several questions from students and others about Justice Kavanaugh, the impact of politics on the justices, the future of the court and other topics.­­
