Rachel George is a political scientist whose research examines AI and emerging technologies, institutional reform, democracy and governance, and access to justice. Her work focuses on how institutions adapt to technological and political change, with particular attention to the relationship between policy, governance, and public accountability.

Previously, she was a Lecturing Fellow at Duke University in the Sanford School of Public Policy and Visiting Assistant Professor at Duke Kunshan University. She has also served as a Fellow at Georgetown University and ODI supporting research on international access to justice and community aid workers. Her book, Bureaucratic Smokescreens, explores the politics of institutional reform and the evidence-to-policy process in foreign policy and development institutions. She has also conducted research on AI and democracy, technology governance, and comparative and international dimensions of access to justice.

She holds a BA in Politics from Princeton University, an MA in Middle Eastern Studies & Policy from Harvard University, and a PhD from London School of Economics and Political Science.
