Biography
Stacy Townsend (JD ’17) is the Director of Public Interest Career Development Program at Stanford Law School.
Prior to returning to SLS, Stacy was a Senior Housing Staff Attorney and Litigation Lead at Community Legal Services in East Palo Alto, where her work focused on defending tenants against evictions, combating displacement of low-income communities of color, and empowering communities. Earlier in her career, Stacy was an Equal Justice Works Fellow hosted by the Youth Law Center, where she advocated for education equity on behalf of court-involved youth in the areas of school discipline, the school-to-prison pipeline, reentry, special education, and access to higher education opportunities through direct legal services and policy advocacy. As a law student at SLS, Stacy participated in the Mills Legal Clinic and graduated with the Highest Pro Bono Distinction.
Stacy earned a J.D. from Stanford Law School and a B.A. from the University of San Diego.
