Stanford Animal Protection Project (SAPP)

Description:

Stanford Animal Protection Project (SAPP) partners with the nonprofit Animal Partisan to conduct legal research that the organization uses to examine prospective avenues for litigation in defense of animals. Volunteers will gain exposure to a diverse array of issues, laws, and policies affecting animal welfare.

Commitment Required of Members:

Students interested will produce research memos on an assigned area of animal rights law or policy. They can expect to commit roughly 15 hours per quarter—the equivalent of one research project per quarter. We ask each member to take on one project per quarter, but at least two per year. We will host monthly check in meetings, and as deadlines approach, we’ll organize sessions to offer help and the opportunity to work together.
